La nostra sfida è Use your favorite tool! Che ne dite??? Facile vero?
Hi all and welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge!
This week we are challenging you to Use Your Favorite Tool
What is YOUR favorite crafting tool? Is it a Paper Distresser, a Fuse Tool, a Heat Tool, Die Cutting Machine? We would love to know what is your ‘go to’ tool!
Second week for our Designer Spotlight Nicola aka Paperprofusion! HERE the link to her wonderful blog!
My tools essential are Big Shot and Heat tool.
In this project I used an Etcetera tag , new wonderful media surfaces that were presented by Tim in Creativation. Sorry if some photos are missing, but the rush to start my work and see it finished made me jump a few steps! Anyway ... most of pictures are here!
Small tutorial!
In the picture above you can see the materials and steps, without using Heat tool this background it would be impossible. To create this galaxy background you have to spray the Distress sprays and water, then you have to dry immediately. The trick is to move the surface during drying, so the colors create effects that you can fix on the sheet.
In this case, when I finished (I chose the blue one!), I sprayed again a little bit of water over some points of the background, then I added a drop at a time of gold and silver.
A white splash with Distress Splatter brush, stencil with golden stars and finally the effect Milky Way galaxy!
To create the Milky Way galaxy effect I used a drop of Picket fence Distress paint, diluted with water and then I've swabbed with a baby wipe, the color will expand and the result is a transparent splash of white, you can see it in the last 4 photos above.
For the base of my tag I used the Big Shot with a wonderful embossing folder by Seth Apter and Cardstock metallic. I have completely covered the cardstock with Black soot Distress paint. I dried with Heat tool and then removed some of the color with a scouring pad. If you do not have the scouring pad, you can replace it with thin sandpaper, but the effect is not quite the same.
The stamp I used is part of Motivation 3 set by Tim Holtz Stampers Anonymous, beautiful, super versatile, I have broken it into several parts and I like the effect, I hope you like too!
To stamp Believe I used the ink Simon Says Stamp Pigment Ink Pad White.
Posso definirlo Mixed media?
Umbrella Man is a classic and I always like very much, in this case I made (you see in the tutorial) a very light background, I stamped it with Ranger Paint Dabber Gold Metallic.
In this photo you can see that there are many layers and a lots of various materials in this work: stencils, stamps, stitching, spots, metallic cardstock, watercolor paper, corrugated cardboard ...
I can define Mixed Media? I hope so, you know I'm a beginner in this area! I have to learn so many things, especially about layering! I've said this is the right year for my experiments!
