Ciao a tutti!

Hi all and welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge
Thank you for joining us for the Halloween Challenge and we hope you will all join us again this week too.
This week we are challenging you to look to fly Take Flight
Whether your preferred mode of transport is a plane or hot air balloon, or you could go with nature and feature a bird or flying insect. Whatever you decide to use, we will be looking forward to seeing your makes!
It is Tenia’s last week with us in the Designer Spotlight and we would like to say a huge thank you for all of your creations over the past month. It has been a real pleasure to have you along with us :-)

To respect our weekly theme I have prepared a mini frame with the insects of Tim Holtz's Entomology set. Because of my phobia,  to use them is a challenge with myself every time!

Iniziamo!

Let's start by preparing the background of our panel with the Tangled twigs  die and a thin kraft cardstock. To cut this die I used to cut Precision Base Plate for Intricate Thinlits Dies because it's wonderful but rather intricate and this tool is magical to have perfect cuts.

Tangled twigs die doesn't completely cover the surface of our background. You can use two systems. The first, very simple, is to cut two parts  and cover the point where you combine them with various embellishments  . The second method, which is the one I used, is very useful even when the background it has to remain completely visible . To cut a part of cardstock longer than the die while keeping the design, fold the thin cardstock and place it above the final part of the die. In this way the cardboard will not be cut and you will have a long enough part to cover all the surface you want. Choose a thin card and pass it two / three times through the Big shot together with the Precision Base.

Prepare the background with Heavystock and Distress Oxides. and Tim Holtz Stampers Anonymous Entomology. Randomly cover the background that you cut first with the Tangled twigs die with Versamark and embossing powder. Ready to use!

Now stamp an insect of your choice from the Entomology set 4 times and color with the Distress inks. Then cut them with the matching Entomology dies. I have prepared 4 insects so that they can overlap and create a three-dimensional effect on the panel,

For the central decoration I used a Black / Brown card from Classic Kraft stock by Idea-ology. I cut it to the right size  and used the word Found from the Mixed Media  # 6 die. At this point I put cardstock inside 3D Foundry and I passed it through the Big Shot.

I altered the frame with acrylic, Antiquing waxes and paste with patina effect

Now you have all the pieces ready to assemble your panel. To complete, I added two Idea-ology metallic embellishments.
