PRECIOUS METAL FOR A VINTAGE JOURNEY!

Ciao a tutti!

Hello everyone! Like every first Friday of every month punctually here is the new challenge on A Vintage Journey Blog!
Today Amanda suggests to inspire us by... Precious Metal! I'm really happy about it, I love metal in every way: embellishments, or metallic powders, cardstock, waxes, etc..
Here is my project!

To start I cut a piece of Heavystock in the shape of a tag( Etcetera tag size mini), and I embossed it with Foundry 3d folder by Tim Holtz.

At this point I layered it with four different colors of Distress paints ( Bundled sage, Cracked Pistachio, Evergreen bough, Peacock feather in this order), each layer has to be light.

Adoro quest'effetto!

I added another layer of Walnut stain Distress paint, then I used a baby wipe (not too wet) to remove some parts of color and discover the blue layers.
So,  I sprinkled some drops of  Peacock feather Distress oxide spray and now.... the magic!
The drops oxidize when you dry them with the Heat Tool and they look really a vintage patina! Fabulous effect!

I'm ready to prepare my metal embellishments! I choose Mini globe and Industrial dies by Tim Holtz with black cardstock, if it's possible to choose a thick cardstock. Mini Globe is a thinlit die so I cut five pieces and I glued it together to obtain a bit of thickness.
I used Hammered powder by Ranger that contains some grains of copper color, waxes and Patina effect Mint and Turquoise by Finnabair to decorate everything.
On the corners my beloved Nuvo Expanding mousse!
Last touch: with Walnut stain Distress crayons I highlighted the edges of the tag.

Hope you like my step step and hope it's understandable, you know my English is not so good! The only step that is missing is the one in which I used  Fire Ruby Wax on some point of the embellishments, sorry but I forgot to photograph it!

That's a stunning background, Barbara - the patina effect you've created is gorgeous (and your English is doing a great job taking us through all your steps). I love the altered embellishments - that globe is completely fabulous! Altogether a great tag.

Your tag is absolutely fabulous , Barbara . You always create amazing projects when you use 'precious metals' of any kind in your art and this tag is a fine example of that . Love the vintage patina effect of the background which provides the perfect base colour to let all your rusty, coppery embellishments shine. LOVE it !

Hi Barbara! I'm SO sorry to be SO late in visiting to see your metal project - it seems I looked at all the entries and forgot to look at all of the Creative Guides work! What a gorgeous background you created with your Dox sprays - it looks so much like aged metal - your globe and gears are so beautifully rusted - love your paper doll - you always seem to choose the perfect ones for each of your projects!
