SIMON MONDAY CHALLENGE A BIT O'GREEN

Ciao a tutti!

Hi all and welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge
Thank you for joining us for the Tag It Challenge and we hope you will all join us again this week too.
This week we are celebrating St Patricks Day with A Bit O’ Green
It's the second week for Ann Chuang aka Ann Chuang Crafts as our Designer Spotlight, check out her blog to see what wonderful projects she created!

Sotto vi lascio lo step by step raccontato e diviso in punti!

Today I created a panel starting from a Tim Holtz Framed panel, the largest size (6.5 x 9 inch - 16.5 x 23 cm approximately). Below I leave you the step by step told and divided into points!
1) After choosing the base to work on, I cut a sheet of Heavystock to size and started coloring it with various Distress Oxides (Cracked Pistachio, Evergreen bough, and Shabby Shutters) diluted with a lot of water to have a very light shade.
2) With the Nuvo Mousse Seaspray Green mousse and Tim Holtz's Halftone stencil, I created the motif on two corners. The mousse is particularly beautiful because it remains slightly bright when it is dry I particularly like this shade of green which also has, in my opinion, a lot of gray inside that it makes it very soft.
3) At this point, I chose a couple of timbres from Tim Holtz's last (list of materials at the bottom as always) and I used them on the whole base with Simon Says Stamp Dark Chocolate Brown Ink pad.
4) For the other two corners, I have chosen  Pattern Repeat die which allows you to make decorations of any size because it uses the old perforators' concept, overlapping the last row of decoration and cutting in sequence. I did this with cardstock from the Classic Collection.
5) I kept some small hexagons to make the motif and I colored them with two embossing powders, Mixed Media Fire and Claret (a burgundy that I think is no longer in production, I will indicate an alternative one in the list of materials)
6) The central motif is made up of hexagons and flowers. For the hexagons I used the Stacked Tiles Hexagons die. I cut a sheet of Heavystock and colored it with the same Oxide as before. In this case, you don't have to add much water and adding a few drops of Broken China, then I cut and stamped them with the Field Notes set and Walnut stain Oxide ink pad. I chose three powders, Mixed Media Fire, Claret and Vintage Beeswax by Seth Apter. I added them random on the hexagons and glued the composition.
7) For the flowers I chose the Large Stems die and I tried for the first time the new Ranger product in the range of Alcohol ink, Alloy, Gilded in this case. The product is spectacular, HERE you can find the demonstration video by Tim Holtz. I chose a range of Alcohol inks in contrast to the base and prepared a sheet of Yupo paper which I then cut once completely dried.
8) The tape is made with the now discontinued Crinckle Ribbon (Tim please think again, it can't be true!) and Distress Inks sprays.
9) The frame is colored with Walnut Stain Distress Oxide spray to which I added a few touches of Prima Marketing Firebird wax and with the new Patina Green (matte wax).
10) The sentiment is a phrase that seemed to be the only one possible at this particular moment, from the Idea-Ology Quote Chips pack.
Finished! I hope you like it!

You always create such beauty with contrasting colours - the vivid glow of the fiery reds and oranges is made all the fiercer by the contrast with the cool greeny-turquoise tones. It's magical. And I adore those hexagons in the background.
