This week we would like you to create something using tape: Tape It Up
It is Nikki’s last week with us in the Designer Spotlight and we would like to say a huge thank you for all of your creations over the past month. It has been a real pleasure to have you along with us :-)
Devo essere sincera: non uso spesso questo tipo di prodotto. In generale direi che non è tra le cose che mi viene naturale usare... forse perchè non ci ci sporca le mani? Probabile! Mi piace comunque mettermi alla prova con elementi che non utilizzo spesso, è divertente vedere cosa esce come progetto quando l'argomento non si adatta perfettamente alle mie preferenze!
Ho tirato fuori le ultime due confezioni di Design Tape natalizi di Tim Holtz e ho cominciato a pensare. Non volevo usarli nello sfondo, volevo che fossero davvero i protagonisti del mio progetto. Cosa di meglio che il passerotto patchwork??? Così ho iniziato molto semplicemente ricoprendo alcuni rettangoli di cartoncino con i nastri e ritagliando i vari pezzi che servono per comporre il passerotto come vedete dalle foto sotto.
I have to be honest: I don't often use this type of product. I would say that it is not one of the things that I naturally use ... maybe because my hands don't get dirty? Likely! In any case, I like to test myself with elements that I usually don't use, it's fun to see what comes up when the theme doesn't perfectly fit my preferences!
I took out the last two packages of Tim Holtz's Christmas Design Tape and started thinking. I didn't want to use them in the background, I wanted them to really be the protagonists of my project. What better than the new die by Tim Holtz, Patchwork bird? So I started very simply by covering some rectangles of cardstock with some different kinds of tape and cutting the pieces that are used to build the Christmas robin.
Come secondo passo ho costruito il background della card quadrata. Ho tagliato un cerchio da un foglio di lino chiaro di Textile Surfaces di Idea-ology (non so se è ancora in produzione ma io ne ho comunque ancora due confezioni!) e ho timbrato col finto legno del set Lumberjack di Tim Holtz Stampers Anonymous. Ho tagliato la cornice co cartoncino rosso e realizzato il resto della card con le carte natalizie di Idea-ology.
As a second step I built the background of the square card. I cut a circle from a sheet of light linen from Textile Surfaces by Idea-ology (I don't know if it is still in production but I still have two more!) I stamped with Tim Holtz Stampers Anonymous's Lumberjack set. I cut the frame with red cardboard and made the rest of the card with the Christmas patterned papers by Tim Holtz Idea-ology.
Per la tag ho lavorato sul background sporcandomi ben bene le mani con gli Oxides Spray! Io odio usare i guanti ed essendo molto disordinata e distratta mi sporco sempre molto!!!! Ho iniziato stendendo la Grit Paste attraverso il mini stencil dal set 44 con il motivo a rombi. Una volta asciutta la Grit paste ho colorato lo sfondo con tre colori molto neutri di Oxides Spray (lista materiali in fondo come sempre). Ho tagliato nell'angolo la parola Joy con la fustella Circle Words e poi ho timbrato con alcuni disegni dal set Yuletide Gathering di Tim Holtz Stampers Anonymous. Ho rifinito con lo Stickles Christmas red e con un fiocchetto di Idea -ology (anche questo non so se sia ancora in produzione.. ma anche di questo ne conservo ancora due confezione... in ogni caso!) Per le parti dorate ho utilizzato un foglio adesivo glitterato Deco sheet di Idea-ology e purtroppo anche questo non so se sia ancora in produzione.
Finito il mio progetto con i nastri adesivi!

To create the tag I worked on the background getting my hands dirty with Oxides Spray! I hate using gloves and being very messy and inattentive I get dirty absolutely always !!!! I started spreading the Grit Paste through the mini stencil with the diamond pattern. Once the Grit paste has dried I colored the background with three very neutral colors of Oxides Spray (list of materials at the bottom as always). I cut in the left corner the word Joy from the die Circle Words and then stamped with some drawings from Tim Holtz Stampers Anonymous's Yuletide Gathering set. I finished with Christmas red Stickles and with a bow made with Jute String Christmas by Idea-ology (I don't even know if it's still in production ... but I still keep two of them ... anyway!)
For the gilded parts, I used an adhesive sheet glittered Idea-ology Deco sheet and unfortunately, I do not know if it is still in production.
I finished my project with adhesive tapes!
