SIMON MONDAY CHALLENGE SOMETHING CLEAR

Ciao a tutti! Finalmente siamo a Settembre!

Hi all and welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge
Thank you for joining us for the ‘S’ is for Challenge and we hope you will all join us again this week too.
This week we are challenging you to use something clear on your creation eg acetate, vellum, clear embossing powder, glossy accents, etc. Something Clear
We are showcasing some fabulous products from Visible Image this week. If you have any of their products we would love to see them used but it's not necessary to join in with the challenge.
This week we are welcoming back the lovely Anne Redfern aka Redanne into the Designer Spotlight. If you haven’t visited her blog before then you are in for a real treat!

Oggi ho usato (incredibile direi!!) colori molto neutri.

As a transparent element I chose the Vellum, in particular, Simon Says Stamp's Vellum, it is much more often than all the ones I used before trying it. You can stamp very well and you can, with a little bit of caution, also warm up.
In the photo below you can see how I realized the background of my tag.
Today I used (incredibly!) very neutral colors. It is a small challenge with myself, those who follow me know that I find it hard to resist the bright colors!
I chose Antique Linen, Pumice stone and Walnut stain Distress oxide sprays and a Kraft tag. Then I used a white crackle paste together with the Visible image Time Tunnel stencil. When crackle appeared and the paste dries to form cracks, it lightly takes on the color of the base, so from white, it becomes a perfect cream-gray color

The second very important step was the realization of the central point. I am totally in love with this eye, which is part of Cadaverous stamps set by Tim Holtz Stampers Anonymous.
In the same way as before, I colored a small rectangle of Kraft paper and stamped the eye with the help of the Platform.
With a tiny piece of purple-colored cardstock (I always keep everything), I stamped the eye so I could cut out only the pupil. Before gluing the pupil,  I colored some parts of the eye with the white Uni-ball Signo gel pen. The frame is an Idea-ology medallion. I cut the upper part so that it was oval and I used the pieces cut up and I used them in the upper and lower parts of the tag (obviously to have two pieces I cut another from an identical medallion! ). Missing the photo of how I altered the medallion and the top and bottom parts: Grit paste, white gesso, Distress Crayon Black soot.
Once the pupil has been glued I used the Glossy to polish it, you will see it better from the detail photos.

And here is the Vellum! On the Simon Says Stamp vellum I printed hands and feet from the Cadaverous set, I then chose the hands because they were better suited to the tag!
Procedure: Stamp with Archival Black soot and dry carefully with Heat tool. You have to do it because the Vellum is smooth and semi-glossy and the ink takes a lot of time to dry. So if you try to work with your own stamp immediately after stamped it, you will ruin it.
Once the stamped images have dried, use them on the reverse and color the back with Distress Oxide Ink Pad Antique Linen and Pumice Stone. The same thing as before, dry them! As a last step highlight the bones with the white pen. When you see them from the front, your hands will be perfect. You could probably also leave them transparent, but I didn't like them. The color of the Oxide makes them much more realistic!
Still, on Vellum I used alcohol Inks to cut the tiny bats.
When you go to glue your hands, with a pencil or a brush, curl the fingers a little, the Vellum keeps enough the shape that you give it and the hands seem more "alive"!

As a finishing touch I used  Black soot Distress Crayon on the whole edge and on two corners I mixed various black and gray powders.

Wow, that's really creepy with the bony fingertips reaching for the eye... and fabulous grungy crackle too. I love this tag with its aged neutrals and just a touch of twilight purple.
