Hi all and welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge.
Thank you for joining us for the Distress It Challenge and we hope you will all join us again this week too.
This week the challenge is: You’ve Got The Edge.
We would like you to focus on the edges of your creation and add some interest to them, You could use die cut borders, distressing, embossing, inking, stitching or any other way to draw your eye to the edges of your project. we will be looking forward to seeing how you interpret this challenge!
Until the end of August Beulah Bee will be with us as a Designer Spotlight, HERE the link to her wonderful blog, is always an inspiration!

Really, I don't know the reason why I had this idea, but I thought the Sea Life set  was perfect for  Watson. I know it is a strange mental association, but as always I followed my instinct and I started without thinking to the result!
The result is this mini-framed panel in which I tried to recreate a marine scene and to represent one thought !
As you see the corners are very important!

I stamped Watson on a sheet of Watercolor paper after using the Mini Distress ink pad Evergreen bough, Pine Needles and Fossilized Amber on it. I highlighted the contours with Walnut stain Distress marker.
At the end of this passage I worked a bit, but really mildly with spray and Oxides

My edges are really important for  this work, to highlight them I used Stampendous GOLD LUX MIX Micas and Glitters, which also contains large flakes, and the fishes by Sea Life  stamp set.

For the frame I used Evergreen Bough Distres Paint mixed with a drop of Pine Needles and a drop of Broken China, I slightly passed the sandpaper and added Prima Marketing Metallique Wax Vintage Gold!

Another amazing nautical project. It's strange but what I love the most is the half-fish on the left :-) The colors and textures are amazing and so underwater. I LOVE it. Hugs, Marzena

This is wonderful Barbara and I love the softness of the stamping which creates the feel and look of being underwater! Another great piece of art my friend... <3

I appreciate the tricks you used to make this composition so effective and believable. The faded stamping, the cloth and glitter bits, the illusion of movement by stamping the fish at the edges. I admire that you follow your instincts--that is what makes you such a good artist.

A Wonderful project ! Barbara . Love how you have kept Watson 'washy' to give the impression that he is underwater. Having the fish coming in from either side makes it seem like Watson is indeed right in the middle of the sea with some wonderful underwater activity going on around him enhanced even more by the cloth and fibres , glitter and fragments that you have kept to the edges of the design.
Very creative and effective piece .
