This is the last week for our Designer Spotlight for August, Christine
Here you can visit her blog! Christine thank you for sharing with us this month for creativity, it was an honor and a pleasure to work with you!
This Monday I changed the subject!! the seahorse is not the star of my project! I have to confess: between me and sewing there isn't a big love, the sewing machine (except the simplest stitches, the only one that can do ....) is an almost unknown subject for me, so I had adapt my limited ability to this theme. I used a size with which I feel comfortable, the tag, a certainty! Creative Chemistry 103 inspired me to try this technique on Textile Surfaces! I added some stitches to give more details and .... to respect the theme of our challenge!
the first tag has very summer colors! With these two tags I tried to build a transition between summer and autumn (I'm so happy that autumn is coming!!!!).
I cut the Textile surface with Tim Holtz Sizzix Framelits tag, I painted it with Distress sprays using bright colors, visible on darker background. Once the tag has dried, I utilized the stencil with the texture paste gloss . Let it air dry, it takes a little time but the result is much better than you dry it with heat tool! The last step: you sprinkle with a Distress stain spray in darker color , in this case Blueprint sketch, and texture paste gloss creates the effect resist!
This is the version that takes you directly to autumn , I love fall and winter!!!
I admit that stitches are not many .... but there are and this is the important thing!

These are gorgeous Barbara! LOVE the leafy on and your backgrounds are perfection!
I say well done! I too struggle with stitching on my cards (I so admire those that do this with ease!) I love to hand sew in the winter and your tags certainly are bringing that closer! I love both of these but especially that gorgeous Autumn tag - such fabulous colours! Thank you for your support! Hugs, Chrisx
Absolutely gorgeous Barbara. Hugs x X
Gorgeous tags Barbara, I love the summer and autumn themes, the colours and details are fabulous! :-)

Due tag meravigliosamente belle!! Bravissima Barbara come sempre sei troppo sul pezzo!!! brava!
Your tags are just stunning... I really am drawn to the leave tag.... Love the colors and the leaf veins you stitched on....
Barbara, these are gorgeous!!! I love the beautiful rich colors, and the stitching is so fun! Great touch with adding stitching to the feather and leaf too. One thing I love about stitching with paper - it really doesn't have to look "good" to look artsy and great!! hugs, Maura
Stunning tags, Barbara! I LOVE the bold colors!!

Simon Says Stamp!
These are beautiful--especially the autumn leaf one! Molto bello ;)
Simply stunning, Barbara! The colours on both tags are so vivid and intense. Those fiery dots on the brown tag are just amazing, and the leaf looks fantastic. I love the blue green one too, of course, and the fabric texture on both is very cool. Like you, I don't get on with sewing machines (they break when I sit down at them - I'm determined to try again one day though), so I'm very impressed with your stitching. I had to go with faux-stitches for my entry!

Stunning tags! Beautiful.
Beautiful, beautiful! They both are stunning! Maybe the feather blue green one is my favorite.
I love the deep, rich colors you were able to achieve on your tags. The close-up photos are amazing. Absolutely stunning!

Both tags are gorgeous, Barbara. Love the beautiful colors on the background, and the beautiful feather and leave .:)
These are AMAZING! I don't know why you say you are not a master of stitching because these are incredible! And it was so fun to see two different types of tags. The colors in each one are stunning even though they are completely different. LOVE THESE!!
Barbara the 'Queen of tags' strikes again with two absolutely gorgeous
pieces.
Love the rich depth of colour ,texture and detail you have created on both .
Wonderful in design and execution .
