Hi all and welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge
Thank you for joining us for the Ombre Challenge and we hope you will all join us again this week too.
This week we are challenging you to use a stencil on your project
STENCIL IT
Second week for our Designer Spotlight Alison Bomber aka Words and Pictures, check out her fabulous blog full of wonderful inspirations!

Today I decided to follow my heart and choose one of my favorite themes: the sea. His face is so wonderful that I couldn't help but build my work around this little boy ...
I didn't have a canvas that fit as well and so I used a sheet of Ranger White Sticky-Back Canvas glued on a thick cardboard. I started as always with a layer of white chalk and then away with the color. Distress paints:  Tumbled Glass, Picket fence, Stormy sky for the background.

Two stencils by Tim Holtz to follow our weekly theme.  I used Weathered wood Distress paint for  Dotted stencila, I used Texture paste for Stone stencil. Once Texture paste has dried, I started with several layers until I got the result I wanted. Distress oxides Antique linen, Viva decor Wx Turquoise, a touch of Baked texture Dirty sand and Patina oxide and a hint  of Prima Acrylic paint Mermaid sparkle.

Here and there in the background I gave a few brushstrokes of Distress Medium Crazing to create the cracks.
.

The frame vignette I used was painted with Ground Espresso and over  a little bit of Prima Metallique Acrylic paint Emerald.

The water effect I got on the fish deserves an explanation ( Sea Life set by Tim Holtz Stampers Anonymous). First I stamped on a scrap of Plain Paper Collage my  fish with Potting soil Archival ink and I glued on my canvas, already painted. Then with Versamark I tried to follow the contours of the fish, I sprinkled with my fingers a touch of Wow Premium Glitter Jade and then I poured the Vintage Beeswax powder by Seth Apter. Water effect is wonderful, it seems to float, of course you could see it better live! Ingredients of the dark texture on the corners: Mini art Stones of Prima mixed with Ranger Collage medium, Ground espresso Distress paint and Dirty Sand Baked texture. Once dry with my fingers I spread a little bit of acrylic, homemade color, mixing Fired Brick and Rusty hinge.

Behind the picture I added a background that I cut with the Tim Holtz Sizzix Mixed media 3 dies, visible but not too.
Finally I stamped from  Mail Art set by Tim Holtz Stampers Anonymous the word Original on acetate using  Dirty sand powder, on the back of the acetate I used the homemade color of which I spoke above to highlight the letters!
