SIMON MONDAY CHALLENGE: MAKE A WISH!

Ciao a tutti!

Hi all and welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge!
MAKE A WISH is our theme for this week!
We usually  ’Make A Wish’ before blowing out the birthday candles, but you could create something with a wish in mind. I wish I was lying on a beach listening to the waves and reading a good book. What is YOUR wish? We will look forward to seeing what you make!  Our Designer Spotlight all along this month is Kassa aka Delight in the detail, check out her wonderful blog!

I interpreted this challenge in a very personal way, I wanted to express something that is very important for me: keep the same curiosity and the same wishes that  all kids of the world have!  To make  this I used one of the photos from Found Relatives  Portraits and I created a canvas using Tim Holtz Idea-ology FRAMED PANEL . For my background Tim Holtz Sizzix CROSSHATCH Frameworks cut on  Core'dinations Metallic Cardstock  painted with Alcohol Inks lights my work. To complete the dreamy atmosphere I used stars and butterflies in subtle colors.

Short tutorial

First step: preparing the canvas with a layer of  White gesso and coloring with Tumbled Glass Distress Paint and Distress spray.

Second step: to isolate these colors with Gesso  Clear and continue with another layer of  Tattered rose Distress spray and a few strokes with Antique Linen Distress Crayons.  Picket fence  Distress ink pad and Distress crayon to finish the background  with a stencil. At this point you seal  all  with Ranger Medium Matte (first photo of the next bunch!).

I cut  the frame on Ranger METAL FOIL TAPE SHEETS, embossed and colored  it with some alcohol inks. To give depth,  I cut the same frame  on cardstock and between the two I put a layer of  Plain Tissue wrap. I liked the idea of showing the underside subtly. Last picture:  I stamped the new Tim's Label (set super useful!) on a scrap of paper.

I colored  the wood frame spreading a  first layer of  Ground Espresso  Distress paint and a second layer of Gold Metallic  Paint Dabber. On the outlines  I used Tim Holtz's Tissue tape.

To complete my project  I cut two pieces of Tim Holtz Core'dinations KRAFT CORE METALLIC gold, as always wrinkled because I like a lot used in this way!
