Hello everyone and welcome to the first May challenge on Simon Says Monday Challenge Blog!
This week the challenge is: HOME DECOR!
For this challenge we are creating something to decorate our homes. It could be a canvas, a wall hanging, a candle holder, coaster, whatever you like! We will be looking forward to seeing what you make!
We are showcasing PRIMA PRODUCTS this week. You don’t have to use them to join in, but if you have them we would love to see them used.
I also have the great pleasure and honor to introduce our new Spotlight Designer for the next 4 weeks: Kassa aka Delight In The Detail! Check out her blog, you will be amazed!
First thing: I'm an absolute beginner in this style, but to play for this challenge it was so fun!! I'm in love with Prima Flowers Metallique Acrilyc Paint! I've chose my favourite color Emerald green Metallique to alter this Ikea frame! All in this work is altered (the picture of my little girl too, Photoshop I love you!): Paper flower, Prima metal flowers, metal gears, White Square Crochet Doilies... To complete my project I added a quote that I love with Idea- ology Big chat stickers and some Idea-ology gears. I hope you liked my experiment!
Come spesso capita ho usato una cornice Ikea e l'ho alterata. Ho iniziato con uno strato di gesso in modo da far aderire meglio i colori acrilici Metallique di Prima, dei quali mi sono effettivamente innamorata! Li adoro! Ho usato come base Emerald green e sopra qualche pennellata di Ancient coin, non mi chiedete come ho fatto, in realtà non lo so! All'interno della cornice una piccola tela sulla quale ho incollato passamaneria e un paio di Prima Flowers WHITE SQUARE Crochet Doilies, qualche zip e una manciata di Prima Flowers BUTTER Art Ingredients Glass Beads. Agli angoli ho usato un mini stencil di Tim Holtz con Wendy Vecchi Embossing Paste CRACKLED Texture.
Quando tutto si è perfettamente asciugato ho colorato con Emeral Green! Poi ho preparato gli abbellimenti metallici nello stesso modo! Ho aggiunto un filo dorato per macchina da cucire sotto la foto in modo casuale alla fine del lavoro per legare tutte le parti!
I used for my project an Ikea frame and I altered it. I started with a layer of Gesso , to make adhere better Prima Metallique acrylics! I love them! I used as the basis Emerald green, and over some brushstroke of Ancient coin!You don't ask me how I did, actually I don't not know! Inside the frame I put a small canvas on which I glued trimmings and a couple of PRIMA FLOWRES WHITE SQUARE Crochet Doilies, some zip and a handful of First Flowers BUTTER Ingredients Art Glass Beads. At the corners I used a Tim Holtz's mini stencil with Wendy Vecchi Embossing Paste CRACKLED Texture.
When everything is perfectly dry, I colored all the components of my projects with Emerald Green. ! Then I made the metal embellishments in the same way! I added a golden thread randomly under the photo.
La foto è di mia figlia a 6 anni quando riuscivo a ritrarla senza che protestasse! Ora che ne ha 11 non succede più e io non ho più foto da utilizzare!
The photo is of my daughter when she was 6 years old and I could take pictures without any problems! Now that she's 11, it doesn't happen and I have no photo to use!

Never has an IKEA frame looked so fantastic! I love this altered treasure and this project alone inspired me to buy some of that Prima metallique paint! Thanks for always giving me something beautiful to look at.

PS can you please tell me if it is possible to follow your blog pr mail ? I dont see anywhere to sign up for this.. The only way to follow you is via Google Froend connect.
