Compendium of curiosties 3 Challenge #5 : Distress watercoloring!

Ciao a tutti , quinta puntata del challenge Compendium of curiosities 3 ! Questa volta  Linda Ledbetter ci suggerisce di dedicarci  alla colorazione con i Distress markers!





Continua la mia passione: Artistic trading block , il secondo e sicuramente non l'ultimo!

Ho pensato che essendo così vicini al 4 Luglio , creare qualcosa per celebrare questa festa , ovviamente non italiana, ma così importante per gli americani che ci ospitano nel loro blog per questo challenge,poteva essere una buona idea!
Cosa di meglio che i mini blueprints di Tim Holtz?

Sono partita dal mio "cubo" e l'ho rivestito con un foglio del pad Seasonal di Tim Holtz dove si trovano carte tutte a tema , Halloween, Pasqua , 4 Luglio e Natale.
Come sempre l'ho distressato per benino ai lati e agli angoli!
Poi ho colorato sulla meravigliosa carta da acquarello della Ranger ( che ho finito!!!! AIUTO!!!!) , anzichè tagliare i timbri , li ho strappati con le mani, poi li ho sporcati ai bordi.
Quando ho provato a montarli erano un pò piccoli per la faccia del cubo e così per riempire ho usato del
tessuto tipo lino sottile, in un colore naturale che ho colorato con i Paints.
Con lo stesso tessuto ho tagliato le strisce sottile con cui ho fatto la decorazione sotto la rosette.









Queste sono le facce laterali del mio ATB, nella faccia superiore ho optato per  una rosette blu nella quale ho inserito uno stecco di legno ( sì quelli per gli spiedini di carne!) che ho ricoperto con il tessuto di lino sottile naturale.


Certamente non potevano mancare le stelle e quindi ne ho inserite 4 agli angoli e siccome sono di metallo ( sono quelle che si usano anche come borchie per i jeans!),  per dare loro un aspetto più rovinato le ho colorate con il Distress Paints antique linen.

Siccome si parla di stelle ne ho creata due più grandi come decorazione della  rosette verticale, una nella parte davanti e una nella parte dietro.



Il 4 che vedete al centro l'ho preso dal "14", blueprint di San Valentino e ho colorato anche lui con i Distress Markers come gli altri Mini blueprints!


Per rifinire il mio progetto ho aggiunto un tocco di metallo, nel quale ho inserito la parola "freedom".

Debbo essere sincera, fare un ATB è divertente, rilassante e dà la possibilità di lavorare in 3D,  cosa  che sta cominciando a piacermi  veramente tanto!

Barbara...this is fantastic! Your ATB is absolutely stunning and all of the panels celebrating our 4th of July celebration are so clever! This is incredible. I love your watercolor technique. The Maestro would be proud! Great distressing around the edges of the tiny blueprint images. Wow! What an awesome idea to use the fabric behind them. Brilliant!!
