Hi all and welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge
Thank you for joining us for the Masculine Challenge and we hope you will all join us again this week too.
This week we are using lots of color with the theme All Things Bright And Beautiful
It is the first Monday of the month and that means we are showcasing a particular brand/company. This week we are all using Paper Artsy Products and if you have any we would love to see them used. Of course, if you don’t have any, yet, then you can use whatever bright and beautiful supplies you have!
This week we are welcoming back the lovely Christine Bedford aka Pear Shaped Crafting into the Designer Spotlight. If you haven’t visited her blog before then you are in for a real treat!
Sono partita da una cornice di Tim, Idea-ology Framed panel e ho tagliato a misura un cartoncino Heavystock. Sotto le foto dei passaggi!
I started from a frame by Tim Holtz, Idea-ology Framed panel, and I cut a Heavystock to size. Here are the photos of the steps!
Per prima cosa ho timbrato con Archival ink e un timbro sfondo di Tim Holtz Stampers Anonymous( in fondo la lista dei materiali usati), poi ho colorato con Distress Oxide diluendoli con parecchia acqua, in modo che i colori risultassero abbastanza tenui. Ai verdi ho aggiunto anche qualche chiazza di Aged Mahogany e Abandoned Coral per creare un collegamento di colore con i fiori. una volta ascigati gli Oxide ho usato uno stencil di Paper Artsy insieme alla Texture Paste. Vi chiederete perchè la Texture ha un nastro adesivo intorno alla chiusura. Ho adottato questo metodo in modo che il barattolo sia davvero ermeticamente chiusi così non mi si seccano più i vari materiali. Mentra la Texture Paste si asciugava ho potuto timbrare in alcuni punti con un timbro sfondo sempre Paper Artsy.
First I stamped background with Tim Holtz Stampers Anonymous Botanical and Prickly Pear Archival Ink (at the bottom of the list of used materials), then I colored with Distress Oxides diluting them with a lot of water, so that the colors were quite soft. I also added some splashes of Aged Mahogany and Abandoned Coral to the green to create a link with the flowers. Once the Oxides were dried I used a Paper Artsy stencil together with Texture Paste. Ask yourself why the Texture has an adhesive tape around the closure. I have adopted this method so that the jar is really hermetically closed so I do not dry out the various materials. While Texture Paste was drying, I stamped with Paper Artsy Hot Pick 501 in my background.
Nella foto sopra il proseguimento. Ho usato anche un timbro Paper artsy by Seth Apter con inchiostro bianco, un meraviglioso effetto quasi trasparente che si vede decisamente meglio dal vivo! Dallo stesso set di Paper Artsy Seth Apter ho usato anche il timbro cerchio insieme ai Perfect Pearls, mi scuso ma questo passaggio ho dimenticato di fotografarlo! Potete vedere però l'effetto nella foto a destra.
In the picture above the continuation. I also used a Paper artsy by Seth Apter stamp with white ink, a wonderful, almost transparent effect that is definitely better live! From the same set of Seth Apter I also used the circle stamp together with Perfect Pearls, I apologize becuse I forgot to take picture of this step! However, you can see the effect in the photo on the right.
Per creare una cornice alle mie Dolls, ho usato una fustella che definirei immancabile a marchio Simon Says Stamp, Ring Frame. Immagino che anche qui vi chiederete perchè ho usato la texture paste e non ho colorato direttamente la fustellata. Innanzitutto ho tagliato la cornice con cartoncino Kraft, poi ho coperto con gesso bianco. Il gesso copre sì, ma resta sempre un'ombra del colore stottostante, in questo modo il bianco non rimane troppo bianco e l'effetto vintage/grunge risulta migliore, sempre secondo i miei canoni estetici!
Asciugato il gesso ho usato prima due Distress Oxides e poi Paper Artsy Infusion Sunset Beach. Tutti gli Infusions sono particolarmente adatti a lavori vintage/grunge perchè hanno in mezzo alla polvere del colore indicato anche qualche piccolo granello di marrone che si mischia creando un effetto meraviglioso.
To create a frame for my Dolls, I used a die, a must have by Simon Says Stamp, Ring Frame. I guess that you will ask the reason why I used texture paste and I didn't directly colored the punched. Here the reason: I cut the frame with Kraft cardboard, then I covered it with White gesso. White gesso covers enough but the color below is always a little bit visible. In this way the white isn't too white and the vintage / grunge effect is better, always according to my aesthetic standards!
When Gesso dried, I used two Distress Oxides and then Paper Artsy Infusion Sunset Beach. All the Infusions are particularly suitable for vintage / grunge works because they have in the middle of the powder of the color indicated some small grains of brown that mixes creating a wonderful effect.
Sono passata a creare la decorazione con i fiori usando un paio di ritagli colorati in precedenza con gli oxides e vari cartoncini colorati verdi e crema, presi anch'essi dai ritagli che conservo dei fogli non del tutto utilizzati! Due parole sulle fustelle Floral Di Sizzix Tim Holtz! Sono strafavolose, se non le avete prendetele perchè non vi stancheranno mai e hanno una varietà di utilizzo e di possibilità di mixarle davvero incredibile!
I started creating my flowers decoration using a couple of sheets that I had previously painted with oxides and various green and cream cardstocks, also taken from the cutouts that I keep when I don't use the sheets completely! A few words about Sizzix Tim Holtz's Floral dies! They are exceptional, you will never get tired of using them, they have a wonderful variety of use and the possibility of mixing them really amazing!
Per colorare la cornice ho mischiato i due oxides e rifinito con cera Rich Copper di prima Marketing. Per la targhjetta Idea-ology ho utilizzato Distress Crayons Picked Raspberry per evidenziare la frase e rifinito con graound espresso e crea Rich Copper.
Ora basta parlare, faccio spazio ai close ups!
To color the frame I mixed Distress oxides and I finished with Prima Marketing wax Rich Copper. I used Distress Crayons Picked Raspberry to highlight the quote and I finished with Ground espresso and Rich Copper.
Now just talk, I make room for the close ups!
