Hi all and welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog!
This week the challenge is
MONOCHROME
Pick a color, any color, and create something with it!  We will look forward to seeing what you make!
This is Kassa‘s last week with us in the Designer Spotlight and we would like to say a huge thank you for all of your fabulous creations over the past weeks. It has been a real pleasure having you along with us!

It's so difficult to me to work with only one color! I chose a gold/brown palette for my panel !  My Layered dragonfly was cut on  Tim Holtz Idea-ology TEXTILE SURFACES Paperie and painted with Walnut stain  Distress crayons  with a little touch of Ranger VINTAGE Shiny Transfer Foil . For the background I used Tim Holtz Rubber Stamp PATCHWORK 2 Stampers Anonymous and Sizzix Mosaic with Distress inks pads.  To create the frame I used Tim Holtz Sizzix CROSSHATCH Frameworks Die ,  cut  from two different Core'dinations collections: Metallic and Nostalgic.
I prepared a little tutorial to show you the main steps of this creation!

First step: preparation of the tags, base of the dragonfly! Manila tag # 8, new Tim's stamp for the background , Distress sprays and a Stampendous powder ! I apologize the photo is not exact! In fact I used the Chunky Metallic  powder but in my  creative chaos ..... I took the wrong tube! You  know how are messy  our desks when we're working!

Second step: the dragonfly. I cut it with  Tim Holtz Sizzix Layered Dragonfly on  Idea-ology textile surface. I highlighted  with Distress Crayons and  I've added random Vintage Foil sheets Ranger.

Third step: the mosaic. Here, too, I apologize, missing the picture of Sizzix Tim Holtz Mosaic die , but I used it  to cut  my small colorful pieces! Another Manila tag # 8 stamped with another Tim's  background that I inked with different colors of Mini distress. I highlighted the edges, I spread a layer of medium Collage Vintage.

Fourth step: the basis on which I put the tag with the dragonfly. The base immediately below is a simple piece of textured surfaces (corrugated cardboard), I have added a few brushstrokes with  Fossilized Amber Distress paint. For the biggest part that frames all the work, I used the  panel from  Idea ology Framed panel. I covered with a sheet of Idea-ology -  Kraft Resist Paper Stash, colored with Distress ink and Distress Crayons.

Last step:the mesh!  I used Sizzix Tim Hotz Crosshatch framework die! I cut 4 pieces for each layer: grungeboard, Metallic cardstock, Cardstock from Nostalgic collection. The sandwich: grungeboard, layer of Cardstock metallic crossed with the grungeboard, last layer cardstock Nostalgic  exactly  over  grungeboard.! I know it is easier to do than to say!

Stunning background Barbara. Even though most was covered by the beautiful centerpiece, the faux woven background looks fantastic. Love all the layers you created - so much work to do that but you really made all the pieces work together and shine!

Somehow, I missed seeing this. It is stunning! That interwoven background is brilliant and I love the fabric dragonfly. Even though you find it difficult to work in monochrome, you do it beautifully!

I forgot to say thank you for the step by step!

This is really clever, Barbara! I really love the way you layered up the textures to create a whole new pattern of your own. When I was growing up, the colors of my high school were brown and yellow. They NEVER looked as good as what you did here with the rich browns and metallic golds! Lovely!
