Partiamo!
It was a long time that I didn't use Dylusions Sprays and it was so funny that I created three projects for this post. Each project has its own short ( very short!) tutorial, there are three different ways to use Dylusions with the same stencil, Roses by Tim Holtz. Get comfortable because today the post is long .... !!!
Let's start!
To start you must choose your colors, I opted for a range of warm colors, Pomegranate Seed is the color around which I built the whole project. The other colors are Lemon Zest, Bubblegum Pink and Ground coffee. For my background I used a page from Dylusions Journal, the large, because in my opinion using this paper the effect of these sprays is spectacular.
I sprayed my colors, I dried the Heat tool and then I placed the stencil. I squeezed some baby wipes and I dabbed through the stencil to remove color. You can see the result in the picture above.
I smeared a layer of Gesso clear to isolate the effect obtained, then I added Texture paste through the stencil. Once Texture paste is dried I added Peeled paint Distress oxide, fabulous and super matt!
With a brush I added a little bit of light with Tarnished Brass Distress spray. I decided to use the Framed Panel byTim Holtz, larger version. I've painted the frame with a mix of Ground expresso Distress spray and Walnut Stain Distress Oxide. To finish I sprayed little bit of Tarnished brass Mica Spray.
Second project is a bookmark, fairly simple and fast, to be created for a last-minute gift.
Il mini tutorial
Short tutorial
Sprayed with just one color (Pomegranate seed Dylusions Spray) through the stencil of your choice and place it on the paper, pass over a brayer, so the spray can adhere well to the paper. It will see the stencil with irregular effect.
You must reposition the stencil, of course you must clean it, and used Distress oxides with blending tool. The matt effect and nuances that are created when this inks overlap are fabulous.
Third and last project is a card that could be perfect for Valentine's Day, I know it's already gone for this year, but you can adapt this technique to any kind of project.
Short step by step
Same colors, I added a few drops of Tangerine Dream and I removed Lemon Zest. In this case I used the stencil with paste Texture Paste Transparent Gloss, I waited until Texture paste has dried. When the textures gloss paste dries, perhaps because it humidifies the paper, the colors become more pale. I repositioned the stencil and I sprayed Perfect pearl or if you don't have it , you can use Mica Spray.
I hope you enjoy this post, I had much fun to spray and get my hands dirty!
