SIMON MONDAY CHALLENGE TAG IT

Ciao a tutti!

Hi all and welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge
Thank you for joining us for the Birds Of A Feather Challenge and we hope you will join in with us this week too!
This week we are challenging you to create a tag or something with a tag attached:
Tag It!
I remind you  our wonderful January Designer Spotlight: Amber, her fantastic blog HERE!

Per me è stato facile questa settimana!

It was easy for me this week! I chose an  Etcetera tag size Small and one of my favorite themes: Steampunk!
I'm trying to keep my promise and take more step by step to show you my creative process of my work.

Ho iniziato stendendo a random il gesso sula tag, lasciando scoperta qualche parte di essa.

I started by randomly covering my tag with white gesso, leaving some parts uncovered.

I chose three colors between my Distress paints: Evergreen bough, Cracked pistachio and the inevitable Peacock feather. I mixed them together and colored my base.

I chose two sets that I like very much: Tim Holtz Stampers Anonymous Noble Gent and Etcetera. I stamped them with  Ground espresso Archival Ink. Once all it dried, I spread a layer of  Distress Collage Medium Vintage.

On the tag, perfectly dried, I added a stencil by Tim Holtz: Numeric. I mixed Texture Paste with Black Soot and Ground espresso Distress paints and a a little bit  of Prima Marketing Sparks Raven Black. To enrich the texture I created,  I spread with  my fingers with Prima Marketing Rich Copper Art Alchemy Metallique Wax.

The center of the project is a photo taken from the new pack Found Relatives, I altered it slightly with Teakwood Alcohol ink and from there I started to build layers, embellishments and textures.

Around the picture I created a kind of frame with gears, Sizzix Tim Holtz dies cut with different materials: Cardstock metallic and thick cardboard.
Once I cut these embellishments, I altered them: Metallic cardstock with Alcohol inks and Distress crayons as you can see above, the thick cardboard with  two sets by Prima Marketing, Rust Effect Paste and Patina Effect Paste.

  5. I know it's a lot more trouble to photograph as you work so, thank you. I learned many things today: That the gear die comes with a joined section, that you have tinted your found relative with alcohol ink (brilliant), that you cropped the portrait background in a clever way, and that the Etcetera stamp set should definitely be in my stash. And, of course, you--the master of color combos, has made rust and blue the perfect marriage!
