SIMON SAYS MONDAY CHALLENGE : TIC TAC TOE!

Hi all and welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge!
This week the challenge is: TIC TAC TOE!
The lovely Maura Hibbitts has made this fabulous grid for us to use! Choose a line and use the 3 items in that line, you can also choose a full house option if you’re feeling adventurous!
This is Alison’s last week with us in the Designer Spotlight. We would like to say a huge thank you for all of your creations over the past month. It has been a great pleasure to have you along with us!

This week I've played with my favorite products, I chose a diagonal line: Spray, Stencil and Stamp!
For our TIC TAC TOE I chose a diagonal line: stamp, stencil and spray! I created a mini canvas with black background , I love  the contrast with bright colors! Tim Holtz stamps HALFTONE AND RINGS and Dylusions paints for the colorful  background,  Tim Holtz mini stencil set 8  helped me to give some lights in my project with  the white Texture paste! I used Tim Holtz's  Butterfly  and Distress sprays as watercolors to color it! I utilized the wonderful stamp  Brave by Seth Apter   and Tim Holtz Sizzix Die Believe (obviously a little bit changed!) to  create  my sentiment!

In the tutorial  there are almost all steps of the work! The first part is about the preparation of the canvas. I painted it with Distress paint Black soot, I waited about a minute and before it was completely dried, I "wiped out" part of the color with a baby swipe.

With  Misti, white ink and Dylusions paints I have prepared the background .  First I've stamped with white  ink so the colors could be  very vivid. If you stamp directly on the black  the brightness of the colors is lost. In this case Misti is very useful, you can leave the stamp in the position, clean it  and ink it again!

For Tim Holtz's  butterfly I used Distress sprays as watercolors, directly from the bottles!

Definitely the Misti is a fantastic tool!   I stamped on acetate  the wonderful stamp by Septh Apter and here too  I have had to go over it several times to obtain a whole color effect,  without "holes".

I added a bit of texture with two stencils, the first with traditional  Ranger Texture paste, the second with transparent Gloss and  Distress crayon white.

Distress Watercolor cardstock and Distress stain sprays for a colorful background from which I cut out the frame and then glued on thick cardboard in the same shape!

Poi ho assemblato!

I finished everything with Distress crayons black and a  little bit of Distress crazing  somewhere in the frame at random. Then I assembled all pieces!

  7. So cool! I really loved the colors of this piece, and what struck me was that I was wondering about scale when I first saw this project-- it could have been any size, and I always love that about a project (when it could be tiny or huge and you don't really know until you see it with an object for scale!)
