Hi all and welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge
Thank you for joining us for the Let It Snow Challenge and we hope you will all join us again this week too.
Christmas will soon be here and we thought it would be nice to dedicate a challenge to think about gifts. Handmade gifts are always well received, so maybe you would like to make someone something special, or you can make something to be used for the wrapping, tag, bag, box, paper etc.
Gift It
Also today Jo aka Let's Art Journal is with us as a Designer Spotlight for the month of November! HERE you can see his beautiful BLOG!

Those who follow me for some time maybe know that every year at Christmas I prepare a small hand-made gift for my best friend! Here is what I have prepared this year, a small vignette box, I hope the tutorial that you will find below be useful!!

First I prepared the inside of the Vignette box by cutting a sheet of Heavystock in the right size and creating the starry part with a die by Tim Holtz and then coloring my sky with Distress inks.

I inserted into the landscape the dunes cut with a Tim's die that you can see in the picture (complete materials list below). I chose a Kraft color similar to sand and to give three-dimensionality I used thick double-sided adhesive tape.

To complete the landscape, the fabulous die Wise Men, cut with a dark cardstock and  highlighting their edges with Prima marketing Wax  Vintage Gold. Under the starry sky and to cut the star I used a  sheet of glitter cardstock color gold.

To create a thin frame in the same dark cardboard I used one of the stacked label dies and after having colored my Vignette box with Ground espresso Distress paint I assembled all the pieces.
To finish, I prepared a ribbon that I colored with Distress stain spray and altered the metal parts with the same wax, adding a touch of blue with the color Mystic Turquoise.
The word Peace seemed to me the right finishing touch!

A truly stunning piece of Festive art, those blues and golds are delicious together. Love how you have used the die to change the shape of the front frame, genius. A beautiful piece that can be brought out year after year.
Thank you so much for sharing this amazing creation.

Such a wonderful gift Barbara! I love all the gold and how you used the snow die to make desert hills in the background. The bow is super pretty too.

Hello!! I just love your project. I have purchased this die and was making my cards when I saw your project. I just love the gold on the edges of the wise men, making it look like the star is shining on them. I incorporated that into my cards. Here is a link to my card.
