Compendium of curiosities 3 challenge #3: Beauty and the beast....

Ciao a tutti!!! Di corsa perchè questa settimana di fine anno scolastico è improponibile ai più! Ci vuole  un fisico bestiale per sostenerla tra feste di scuola recite e quant'altro!
Ma eccomi qua con il terzo capitolo del challenge dedicato al libro di Tim Holtz Compendium of curiosities vol. III!!!

Argomento settimanale: faux tea roses! Le rose fatte con la fustella Tattered pinecone! Ora appena letto l'argomento ho avuto l'illuminazione!
Credo che tutti abbiano visto il film Disney "La bella e la bestia" e io in questo film ho adorato fin dal primo istante la rosa incantata sottovetro che perde i petali piano piano!
E quindi.....



Eccola qui la mia "enchanted rose"!!!!
Quando ho avuto l'idea il problema era creare questo vaso di vetro ma che non fosse di vetro! Eccovi un piccolo tutorial!






Partendo dalla prima foto c'e' tutto il mio percorso mentale e  pratico nell'elaborazione della mia idea! Ho tagliato quattro  "Caged bird" di Tim e poi le ho ricalcate su un foglio di acetato con una Sharpie mantenedole attaccate l'una all'altra in modo da avere un pezzo unico di acetato, che ho poi ritagliato a mano! Le gabbiette le ho praticamente svuotate mantenendo solo la base e i contorni. Ho preparato un quadrato con spessore che sarà la base su cui sarà appoggiata la mia rosa!
Nella seconda foto c'e' la colorazione abbastanza classica con distress paints, seguendo il procedimento con cui si esegue una base di colore e quando e' asciutta si ricopre col nero. A metà asciugatura con una salvietta si toglie quello che riesce ancora a venire via  e cosi' compare lo strato  sottostante! Solita limetta da unghie per distressare e distress ink pad Walnut stain!
Per mettere insieme la gabbietta di acetato ho usato la glossy e così  pure per incollare sopra le gabbiette svuotate  preparate su Grunge paper e poi colorate.
Ultima foto , questo so che lo fate tutti, preparazione delle tattered pinecone a forma di rosa. Unici trucchi mttere un filo di metallo insieme allo stecchino, così quando tagliate lo stecchino rimane il filo che si può modellare e quindi posizionarle meglio! Secondo trucco  prima di avvolgerle e formarle,  bagnarle un pochino con acqua e poi asciugare con la carta da cucina o uno straccetto morbido. La carta perde un pò di consistenza e si arrotolano meglio!

Direi di essere stata in tema!!!!Spero che vi piaccia perchè io mi sono davvero divertita , la cosa che a me piace di più sono le foglie cadenti appoggiate sulla base! Però non mi dispiace neanche il resto, ma sapete che io sono ipercritica con me stessa ( sempre purtroppo!!!!).

This is beyond Gorgeous Barbara! This project is amazing, Barbara! It is one of the most creative I have seen! Beauty and the Beast is my all time favorite Disney movie! That was a stroke of genius to use the bird cage die to make the "glass" holder for the rose! Stunning!
